About ALZINFO - 2019
As a continuation of our journey in creating awareness on Alzheimer’s disease, this year Molecular Gerontology Lab organized ALZINFO - 2019 on 23rd October.
On that day, as a key event, we distributed pamphlets highlighting the disease in various regions of Trichy City for creating awareness among people. Apart from that, in our department, an invited lecture by Dr. Sourav Banerjee, Scientist V, National Brain Research Centre, Gurgaon on "Non-coding RNAs at the synapse and implications in memory” and a special lecture by Dr. Mahesh Kandasamy, Assistant Professor, Department of Animal Sciences, Bharathidasan University, Trichy on "Causes of dementia and regenerative strategies to improve memory" were given. Students of our university and other universities participated in events like Quiz competition, Mime and Poster presentation.
The future goal of ALZINFO is to create complete awareness among public initially in regions of Tamilnadu and later throughout India by joining hands with the scientific community and Alzheimer’s Society, thereby, protecting aging population of India from this dreadful disease.
